Baroness, a band six albums into its career, continues to find innovative ways to avoid creative stagnation. From using an Airbnb for album recording to allowing audience-curated setlists at smaller venue shows, the band is always on the move. According to drummer Sebastian Thomson, the band also experienced frequent lineup changes which he believes helps prevent them from being repetitive. The only two consecutive albums with the same lineup are ‘Stone’ and ‘Gold & Grey’. He also explains that he and the other band members instinctively react and adapt to what they’ve done in the past, trying to constantly evolve their music. ‘Stone’ was released in September.
